We believe that a dog can make a remarkable difference in any child's life by fostering a sense of caring companionship and responsibility through the human-animal bond. That’s why we offer programs that give youth who are blind or visually impaired the chance to interact with our special dogs.

Our K9 Buddy Program matches specially selected dogs to become wonderful friends to children and young adults who are blind and visually impaired. A dog can contribute to sensory development, motivating a child to learn, and enhancing self-esteem. A K9 Buddy Championship provides a companion dog and ongoing support, free of charge, for a child or young adult who is blind or visually impaired.

Camp GDB brings together youth who are blind or visually impaired at our campuses to learn about the guide dog lifestyle, including what it is like to travel and live with a guide dog. It is four days of adventure, fun, and learning … with four-legged canine pals in on the action.
