A GDB graduate sits with her yellow Labrador Guide Dog

Welcome law enforcement personnel and other interested parties,

Thank you for helping us battle a national epidemic that is too often under-addressed and misunderstood—attacks on guide and service dogs and their human partners by out-of-control pet dogs.

There are currently 7.8 million pet dogs in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that 4.7 million people are bitten annually. Almost 800,000 bites to people are considered serious enough to require medical attention.

Guide and service animals are specially trained to perform tasks for people who are blind or disabled. When a service dog and their human partner are attacked by an uncontrolled pet dog, the trauma alone can ruin the dog's career as a guide.

Thank you for helping to make our communities safer for all pedestrians!
