Volunteers in the Veterinary Department
Reception/front office assistants help with tasks such as answering incoming calls on multi-line phones, filing medical records and updating computer files, scheduling appointments, restocking supplies and assisting with prescription fulfillment.
Veterinary Department volunteers assist the veterinarians and veterinary technicians with exams, puppy vaccinations and microchips, general housekeeping duties and care for the canine patients (feeding, walking, etc.) staying in the clinic.
Volunteer Recovery Assistants sit with and provide comfort to dogs during surgical recovery, provide stress relief to in-house patients, and assist with simple physical rehabilitation of recovering orthopedic cases.
A group of volunteer drivers also help transport our dogs to specialty appointments in the local area.
