Guide Dogs for the Blind strives to provide the highest level of non-visual website accessibility for visitors to our site. In addition to including technical engineering and coding in the creation of content and navigation, we routinely test the website with multiple assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen enlarging software, etc. - across all standard web browsers to ensure accessibility to as many people as possible. We also engage website accessibility experts and people who are visually impaired to test and provide feedback for optimal usability.
ACCESSIBLE FEATURES FOR NON-VISUAL ACCESSIBILITY
- We include descriptive alternative text for all images (excluding background images). If you discover an image that does not have suitable alternative text, please contact us.
- We strive to use the most intuitive navigation and page layout as possible.
- We minimize the use of tables and iframes for page layout. Exceptions may occur in limited instances, in particular to display tabular data.
