Congratulations to Adam Gilbert, one of our newest Guide Dog Mobility Instructors. Adam recently completed his three-year GDB instructor apprenticeship that required practical, hands-on experience in training both our dogs and our clients, as well as a comprehensive academic course of study.

Adam's career and education have revolved around animals. Prior to coming to GDB, Adam trained Grizzly bears for a studio company in Southern California; trained walruses and dolphins at Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Calif; and also worked at Dogs for Diabetics here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Adam studied anthropology at Cal State Fullerton, and holds a degree in animal behavior from Moorpark College's Exotic Animal Training and Management program. His hobbies include obstacle course racing, snowboarding, and cheering on The Philadelphia Eagles. He also loves adventuring with his fiancé, Kelsey, and his Bull Terrier pet dog named Wallace.
