Welcome, Angela Smith!

Friday July 10, 2020

Guide Dogs for the Blind is excited to welcome Angela Smith as our new Orientation & Mobility Program Specialist.

She possesses a Master’s of Science in Orientation & Mobility from Salus University, PA, and a Bachelor’s in Theatre Performance from Rowan University. Most recently, Angela had been working for the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired as a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist in a 20-week Residential Training Program for adults. Before that, she worked as a stage actor, regionally and abroad.

Angela traveled to CA this spring with her partner and Siamese cat and is currently looking for a place to live near the GBD campus. She has been working remotely while traveling and getting to know California better.

She is collaborating closely with Marc Gillard, O&M Services Manager, to process applications for OMI and stay connected to past and future students.

Angela spends her free time hiking, biking, and tending to her collection of houseplants. She is looking forward to joining the staff on campus, when restrictions are lifted. She would like to thank everyone at GDB for being welcoming and helpful during this tricky time!
