Support Roles
Let your collaborative spirit guide you here.
GDB is a world-class organization and offers very unique work opportunities in a variety of challenging support roles. Some work directly with clients, which is very exciting and rewarding. Others are a bit more behind the scenes, taking on duties that directly support our organization and enable us to carry out our inspiring mission. In each case, our purpose sets us apart – the ability to know that, each and every day, the work you are doing has a significant and life-changing impact on our clients.

Why Support Roles
At GDB, there is always an opportunity to deepen and strengthen your knowledge and expertise. You may take on greater challenges within your role, move into a more senior-level role, or explore a different area where you can build your knowledge and experience in others ways. Because we are always improving, you are always learning new ways to do things.
You will feel supported in your individual role and encouraged to think creatively about ways in which you can have a greater impact. GDB is very innovative and committed to helping improve your communication skills, leadership skills, and ability to support your team and the organization. Also, the culture of our community is incredibly collaborative and empowering.
The decision to apply to get a guide dog from GDB can be a big step and, as part of our Admissions team, you will be here to help. Throughout the application process, we learn more about potential clients while helping them understand their responsibilities in preparing for class training, as well as handling and caring for a guide dog. This is a service-oriented and professional role that you will find enjoyable and rewarding.
You will have the opportunity to directly support our clients by cooking delicious, nutritious meals or maintaining our guest rooms when they come to campus to receive a guide dog. Cooks work in a state-of-the-art kitchen as a part of a team that serves top quality meals with the freshest of ingredients and assist with menu planning. Housekeepers ensure that our clients’ rooms are clean and well-stocked so they feel welcome and well cared for while visiting with us.
GDB offers roles in areas such as Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Marketing. In these roles, we directly support those who are helping us achieve our mission each day. In this way, you are an extension of the team that works with dogs and serves our clients. No matter where you work in our organization, GDB will give you a true sense of purpose and will allow you to share your expertise freely.
You can join our highly qualified specialists in all major categories of nonprofit development: major gift fundraising, special events, foundation giving, corporate giving, planned giving, and digital and direct-mail fundraising. This is an especially exciting time to get involved, as we are investing in our growing development program.
We’re different from your regular nursing job. Here, you will provide care for our clients who are visually impaired or blind when they visit our campus to train with their guide dogs. You’ll enjoy regular hours (no overnight or 12-hour shifts) as you work with our great community of people and make a big difference for our clients.
