Campus Volunteers

Immediate Campus Volunteer Needs
We currently have immediate openings for the following mission-critical volunteer opportunities:
Open to volunteers 18 years and older, with immediate opportunities on our California campus (San Rafael). Roles vary depending on your interest and skill set, ranging from fulfilling online store orders, stocking merchandise, conducting in-person sales transactions, and more! You'll interact with a variety of GDB clients, staff, and fellow volunteers. Join us for some retail therapy!
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to the immediate volunteer opportunities listed above, we have a wide variety of more than 50 interesting campus volunteer jobs that will give you the chance to find a position perfectly suited to your individual interests and talents at either of our campuses.
Volunteer opportunities exist in a variety of departments, and work with our clients, our dogs, and our administrative offices. Campus volunteer opportunities are available to people 18 years and older.
From data entry to medical coding to office assistants, administrative support volunteers help keep things flowing smoothly.
Current Opportunities Include:

- Veterinary Financial Aid Support
These are hands-on opportunities to work with our amazing dogs and puppies. These roles include walking our dogs, socializing our puppies, working with our Breeding dogs, assisting in our vet clinic, and helping with tasks in our kennels.

- Brood Socializer
- Distraction Assistant
- Dog Bathing
- Dog Walker
- Kennel Partner
- Kennel Kitchen Support
- Veterinary Clinic Support
These activities support our clients who are blind/visually impaired. Opportunities include serving meals to clients in class as well as driving students arriving for class and departing. Getting to know our clients and alumni is always a special treat!

- Class Driver
- Class Meal Server
Gift shop volunteers assist people with their shopping needs in our gift shops on either our California or Oregon campuses. We sell branded clothing items, household items, and of course, fun finds for all of the dogs (and dog people!) in our lives.

Tours are often the very first way people learn about who we are and what we do. You'll give tours of our beautiful campuses to visitors of all ages, sharing our mission and exploring locations along the way.

Volunteer opportunities are filled by a matching process, taking into consideration GDB’s needs and mission as well as the applicant’s skills, interests, and schedule.
